PGSOB 2XI (A) Vs ECV Hornets A

A few new faces saw 13 strong side face a well drilled Exeter Hornets side who were looking for their first league win. We started well with plenty of options up front which saw us win multiple short corners but despite this we could not gain the advantage and fell foul of some weaker periods of marking giving a few penalty corners for Hornets which they converted to put us down 0-1 at half time.

Half time was no time to panic as we had the attacking options and goals would come. This started with Lloyd drilling a reverse strike after a failed clearance to pull us 1-1. A second goal came from Mike again in open play that was almost saved and slipped through to put us 2-1 up. Better game management meant we contained their counter attack and James Grant and Joe Coombes both had good games at the back with strong managed play from Colin Wood and AJ in the middle. Man of the Match was Ciaran in goal who made some great saves and managed his D with some great reactions.

The final goal came from Lloyd following a penalty flick sealing a string home victory which we should be proud of coming from 0-1 down. So 2 from 2 with Penzance next week, we need to keep composure and trust our passing game, well done lads.
